Laser Hair Removal |
|
Lasers have been used for the removal of unwanted hair by physicians since 1998. Since that time the technology used has dramatically improved and patients, including those with dark skin, are seeing very good and lasting results. Generally laser hair removal is 80% to 90% affective, meaning 90% of hair in the area will likely remain gone. Follow up maintenance treatments may be needed at 6 months to a year following the initial series of treatment to maintain hair removal.
It’s important if you are considering laser hair removal to protect your skin from the sun. Lasers work by targeting the melanin pigment in your hair follicle and if your skin is more tan than normal, this can have an effect on the laser’s ability to properly target the hair. As the hair follicle absorbs the laser light, this will trigger the hair’s natural resting, or telogen, phase.

Dr. Broukhim's nurses are the best I've had treat me in years! They use the Cynosure laser, which I've read is the newest and best in technology for laser treatments. I have been getting the "Affirm" treatment, 3 visits so far, and my skin surface is smooth, the pigmentation is more even, and the appearance of my wrinkles are tighter. Because I am 55 years old, I will need 2 or 3 more treatments, but it is so much better than having surgery or facelifts- I can go right back to work after the treatment!
I would definitely go here for any laser services- no other place I found in Los Angeles uses this laser, and the price is better than the bigger name places you may have heard about- and they use cheap lasers that are not made for all skin colors.
