I recently went to Nassau Laser Hair Removal to have laser hair removal done on my chin. Daniela discussed the procedure in detail and what I could expect after my initial treatments. She was so thorough explaining how the laser treatment is performed and answered all the questions I had. After my first treatment I saw a huge difference in the growth of hair on my chin. I was thrilled!! I had been fighting this unwanted hair on my chin for years from waxing, to tweezing and finally shaving (sometimes 2x a day). I was so self-conscious being around people fearing that they could see the hair on my chin. I remember having to put my head down talking to someone or covering my hand on my chin so no one could see the hair. It was humiliating. The office is beautifully decorated and makes you feel like you are in a spa. My scheduled appointments were always on time and never had to wait. Her staff is extremely friendly and always welcomed me with a smile. The treatments didn't hurt much at all and Daniela always made sure that if something was uncomfortable to let her know. At the end of my treatments, I was so happy I started to cry knowing that I would never had to deal with the horrible ordeal with shaving ever again! My investment was truly worth it!! All I can say is "having laser treatment done was the best thing I ever did". Thank you, Daniela, for bringing my confidence back. Now I no longer have to cover my chin when talking to someone or keep my head down.

Laser Hair Removal
Lasers have been used for the removal of unwanted hair by physicians since 1998. Since that time the technology used has dramatically improved and patients, including those with dark skin, are seeing very good and lasting results. Generally laser hair removal is 80% to 90% effective, meaning 90% of hair in the area will likely remain gone. Follow up maintenance treatments may be needed at 6 months to a year following the initial series of treatment to maintain hair removal.

It’s important if you are considering laser hair removal to protect your skin from the sun. Lasers work by targeting the melanin pigment in your hair follicle and if your skin is more tan than normal, this can have an effect on the laser’s ability to properly target the hair. As the hair follicle absorbs the laser light, this will trigger the hair’s natural resting, or telogen, phase.
