Laser Hair Removal
Dr. Colin Herd is proud to offer laser hair removal in Cincinnati in a relaxed and open environment to his patients.

Lasers have been used for the removal of unwanted hair by physicians since 1998. Since that time the technology used has dramatically improved and patients, including those with dark skin, are seeing very good and lasting results. Generally laser hair removal is 80% to 90% affective, meaning 90% of hair in the area will likely remain gone. Follow up maintenance treatments may be needed at 6 months to a year following the initial series of treatment to maintain hair removal.

It’s important if you are considering laser hair removal to protect your skin from the sun. Lasers work by targeting the melanin pigment in your hair follicle and if your skin is more tan than normal, this can have an effect on the laser’s ability to properly target the hair. As the hair follicle absorbs the laser light, this will trigger the hair’s natural resting, or telogen, phase.

I have been a patient of Dr Herd for a few years. I have received several fraxel laser treatments for acne scars. He is very interested in what his patients opinions are about different procedures they have received. His staff is very polite and informative. Overall Dr Herd is a very knowledgable doctor.
