Laser Hair Removal |
|
Colin Herd, M.D. has been offering laser hair removal in Columbus for years. Call today for a consultation.
Lasers have been used for the removal of unwanted hair by physicians since 1998. Since that time the technology used has dramatically improved and patients, including those with dark skin, are seeing very good and lasting results. Generally laser hair removal is 80% to 90% affective, meaning 90% of hair in the area will likely remain gone. Follow up maintenance treatments may be needed at 6 months to a year following the initial series of treatment to maintain hair removal.
It’s important if you are considering laser hair removal to protect your skin from the sun. Lasers work by targeting the melanin pigment in your hair follicle and if your skin is more tan than normal, this can have an effect on the laser’s ability to properly target the hair. As the hair follicle absorbs the laser light, this will trigger the hair’s natural resting, or telogen, phase.
Contact one of our physicians today to learn more about this exciting treatment.

Dr Herd is very personable and informative and helpful. My first laser treatment was a good experience. A few weeks later, however,I had placed an order and was told I would receive it by last Thursday. I never received it, so I called to cancel it and was told it was already mailed so I could not cancel it; I asked when it was mailed I was told they could not find that information either. I asked because I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be post marked with today's date. I asked how long the prescription lasted for and she was unable to tell me and suggested I go to the manufacturer website , which I did and was unable to find the information. She said she asked her manager and the manager did not know. I asked for the name of her manager and she would not tell me, just that I would receive my order very soon. Later the same day, I called back and asked to speak to the manager, I was told she could not come to the phone, I would have to leave a message. For a second and third time I asked for the name of the manager, without an answer. I then asked why she could not give me her name, she would not answer that question either and placed me back on hold. Not very happy with staff to say the least.
