Generally Easy Post-Treatment Care

Post treatment care following laser hair removal is usually pretty easy, there is really not much to do. I tell some of my patients with thick hair that very rarely they may develop an acne-type reaction from irritation of the hair follicles, and if they get that, they may need oral antibiotics and to call me. Also, very rarely, I may give a prescription topical steroid cream to reduce the inflammation if it's too significant, although I try and stay away from doing this because it's the inflammatory response that actually signals the hair to sleep and to rest. So, after laser hair removal, there is really not much to do other than use cool compresses and a topical cream only if necessary.
